The inauguration took place in Navi Mumbai and was attended by prominent figures, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, as well as cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

This marks a significant milestone in India's semiconductor mission. This facility is equipped to handle advanced technologies like QFN, BGA, and mixed ASICs.

The project, inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is expected to boost the local semiconductor ecosystem. Additionally, RRP plans to expand further with a fab unit, with a total investment of ₹36,573 crore (approximately $4.4 billion). The project is expected to create hundreds of jobs and stimulate growth in the semiconductor industry in India.
